Richard Cooper, Grimes

Richard P. Cooper of Grimes, 65, died November 14, 1993 of a heart condition. Funeral services were held November 17, 1993 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter. The Rev. Jill Flyr officiated the ceremony. Burial was at the Dexter Cemetery.

He was born to Charles and Eunice (Phillips) Cooper on June 7, 1928 in Chancellor, South Dakota. He was raised in rural Stuart and Dexter. He was a farmer and auto mechanic at Sears in Des Moines for 20 years. He married Darlene, his second wife, in 1973.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Shirley and Bob.

Surviving relatives include his wife; mother, Eunice Cooper of Winterset; four sons; two daughters; two brothers; two sisters; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
