George Lawrence Moorehead Jr., 34, of Kellerton died June 22, 2002, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines from injuries sustained in an accident.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday June 27, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastors Darrell Sams and Terry Kerr officiating. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, June 26) from noon to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m.
George Moorehead was born March 18, 1968 in Winterset to Lawrence Gene and Rita Pearl (Welch) Moorehead. He grew up in Winterset, graduating from Winterset High School in 1986, where he had been a two-time high school Class 2A heavyweight wrestling champion, all-state football player and senior class president. He resided in Clive for a couple of years and had recently moved to Kellerton. George had been an owner and operator of a telecommunications company.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his fiancee, Jennifer Mihalovich of Kellerton; his mother, Rita Moorehead of Leon; four daughters, Anna Moorehead, Caitlyn Moorehead, Katie Moorehead and Alexandria Moorehead, all of Kellerton; four brothers. Charlie Moorehead (wife Rhonda), Robert Moorehead, Kelly Moorehead and Cory Moorehead, all of Leon; two sisters Kara Moorehead of Leon and Suzette Sitton (husband Bill) of Papillion, Neb.
