Services Held For Amy Pitcock

Services were held Monday at the Pitzer United Presbyterian church for Mrs. Amy Pitcock, 79, former Madison county school teacher, who died Saturday, May 22, at Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines.

She was born February 5, 1892, a daughter of John Thrailkill and Caroline Holderbaum Thrailkill.

She was a charter member of the Golden Rule Club of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church and also had been a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She was married to George Pitcock, May 26, 1926. They were the parents of two sons, Leland and Leonard.

She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Leland and Leonard, both of Earlham; five brothers, Charles Thrailkill of Earlham, Chester Thrailkill of Dexter, Maurice Thrailkill of Macksburg, and Wayne and Roy Thrailkill, both of Orlando, Florida; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Hunter of Orlando, Fla.; Mrs. Tillie Heifner of Greenfield, Mrs. Nettie Howell of Winterset and Mrs. Alice Bradshaw of Dexter, and three grandchildren.

Rev. Albert C. Bullock of Lone Rock was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

AMY PITCOCK Dies at 79 Years

Mrs. George Pitcock of near Earlham died Saturday, May 22, 1971, at Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines, at the age of 79 years.

Mrs. Pitcock was a life-time resident of Madison county. She was the former Amy Thrailkill, daughter of John and Caroline Holderbaum Thrailkill. She was born in Madison county Feb. 5, 1892.

As a young woman, she taught school for 15 years. She was married to George Pitcock on May 26, 1926.

She was a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church, and was a charter member of the Golden Rule club of that church. She taught Sunday school there for many years.

Mrs. Pitcock is survived by her husband; two sons, Leland and Leonard Pitcock of Earlham; three grandchildren; five brothers, Charles Thrailkill of Earlham, Chester Thrailkill of Dexter, Maurice Thrailkill of Macksburg, and Wayne and Ray Thrailkill of Orlando, Fla.; and four sisters, Mrs. Cora Hunter of Orlando, Mrs. Tillie Heifner of Greenfield, Mrs. Nettie Howell of Winterset, and Mrs. Alice Bradshaw of Dexter.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Pitzer United Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. Albert C. Bullock of Lone Rock, Iowa. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
