ERLE HENDERSON Died Sunday

Winterset Business Man for Nearly Half Century Was 76 Years Old

Erle W. Henderson, a Winterset business man for 43 years, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 1958, at Memorial hospital here. He was 76 years of age, and had been in failing health in recent months.

Mr. Henderson was a native of Ainsworth, where he was born Oct. 2, 1881, a son of William R. and Dora Moore Henderson. When he was 2 years old the family moved to Clearfield. He came to Winterset when he was 19 years of age.

He entered the furniture business in Winterset with his father in 1907 continuing in that business until his retirement in 1950.

He was married Oct. 1, 1910 to Ada Bedwell. They were parents of two sons and a daughter. The wife and mother died in 1949, and in 1956, he was married to Mrs. Ella Fogle, who survives him.

He was a member of the Winterset United Presbyterian church for many years, but for the last two years his membership had been with the First Presbyterian church here. He was a long time member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah lodges.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Mahlon R. Henderson of Des Moines and Clyde R. Henderson of Woodland Hills, Calif.; the daughter, Mrs. Elvera Ferne Osborn of Phoenix, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian H. Smith of Winterset and Mrs. Ferne Chapman of Beverly Hills, Calif.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the First Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. George DeF. Fisher. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
