FRANK BROCK DIED HERE WEDNESDAY

Frank Brock of Des Moines, who had been a patient at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset since April 22, died at the hospital this Wednesday, May 29.

Mr. Brock had been a resident of Winterset most of his life, but had been living in Des Moines in recent years. He was a former Madison county sheriff, and was the father of County Auditor R. O. Brock of Winterset.

Funeral arrangements had not been made as the Madisonian went to press, but they will be held in charge of Anderson's home for funerals.

Services Saturday For FRANK BROCK

Former Sheriff of Madison County Buried in Local Cemetery

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Anderson home for funerals for Frank B. Brock, whose death occurred Wednesday, May 29, 1957, at Madison county Memorial hospital in Winterset.

The Rev. Mr. Dorr of Des Moines conducted the services. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mr. Brock was born in Madison county, March 19, 1870, a son of Jonos F. and Elizabeth Brock. His early life was spent in farming. He later served as deputy sheriff, and in 1912 was elected sheriff of Madison county. He was reelected to that office in 1914. During World War I he served as chairman of the Madison county draft board.

In 1923, he moved his family to Des Moines, where he had lived in recent years with his daughter, Grace.

He was married Dec. 24, 1891, to Sadie Ragan, whose death occurred in 1946. They were parents of four children, one daughter, Mrs. Esther Brock Eyerly, preceding him in death in 1922.

Surviving are the daughter, Grace Brock of Des Moines; two sons, R. O. Brock of Winterset, who is Madison county auditor, and Elmo Brock of Anaheim, Calif. He also leaves eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

He was a member of Trinity Methodist church and Pioneer Masonic lodge in Des Moines.
