Mr. Lenocker who was 67 years of age, had been in poor health for several years, but his condition became much worse, a few months ago. He received treatment, at the Iowa City hospital, and was brought here in March.

Brief funeral services were held at the Null home on West Court avenue, Monday morning, at 11 o'clock and the body was taken to Dexter. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church there, Monday afternoon, May 16th, at 2:30 o'clock and burial was made in the Dexter cemetery. Members of the Masonic and Odd Fellow lodges assisted with the services. He was a charter member of the Dexter Rebecca lodge and belonged to the Winterset Masonic group. He was also a member of the Des Moines Consistory and Shrine.

Mr. Lenocker came to Penn township with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Lenocker, when he was a boy four years old, and he continued to make that township his home, until he moved to Winterset in 1919. Two years later they moved back to the farm in Penn township and a few years following to the house, in the east part of Dexter, that has since been their home. After attending the Penn township rural schools Mr. Lenocker attended the Dexter Normal. He was married to Mattie B. Pace of Patterson, August 25, 1891, and they were the parents of eight children, seven of whom, with the mother survive him. Little R. A. died when he was eight months of age. Mr. Lenocker took an active interest in the affairs of his community, and served as school secretary of the Penn township school board for over 37 years, resigning when he moved to Winterset. He was a member of the Madison county board of supervisors, in 1907 and 1908, and served as representative of Madison county, in the State legislature in the 36th and 37th general assemblies.

The assemblage of people at the Presbyterian church of Dexter at the funeral rites was a well deserved tribute to a man of good parts.

Mr. Lenocker's home life was marked by a fine devotion to his family. As a neighbor he was helpful and unselfish. As a public official he was conscientious and his integrity unquestioned. Men like R. A. Lenocker leave the world richer because of having lived a worthy and useful life.

The Rev. William Youtsler, pastor of the Dexter Presbyterian church, of which Mr. Lenocker was a member conducted the services. He was assisted by the Rev. R. C. Cully, pastor of the First Presbyterian church in Winterset.
