James Curtis Moore, Harlingen, Texas

Services for James Curtis Moore, 55, former Macksburg resident, who died Nov. 27 at South Texas State Hospital in Harlingen, Texas, were held Monday, Dec. 2 at the Methodist Church in Macksburg with the Rev. Ron Kinzler officiating. Burial was at the Moon cemetery at Macksburg.

Born May 16, 1930 at Cherokee, he was the son of Thad and Fern Schutz Moore. After high school he enlisted in the Navy where he served honorably as an electronics technician until his discharge in 1952.

Most of his life was spent in Texas where he worked as an electrical engineer for Western Electric.

Survivors include his mother, Fern Shearer of Macksburg; brothers, Andrew of Stuart, Kenneth of Cedar Rapids and Carroll of Carson City, Nev.; sisters, Anne Deaver of Livonia, Mich., Mary Carper of Panora and LaRose Nelson of Stanton; step-sister, Vivian Smith of Waukee and Doris Bailey of Winterset; and a step-brother, Dean Shearer of Texas.
