MORTUARY

William Brachter Lienemann

William Brachter Lienemann was born in Andrew, Jackson county, Iowa, June 14th, 1877. His parents were B. P. Lienemann and his wife, Johanna, nee Hostic. In early childhood he was baptized in the name of the Triune God. In 1882 the family moved to Madison county. Here William received his education and grew to manhood.

On March 14th, 1901, he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Rehbein; who, however, departed this life on August 9th, the following year. A daughter born to this union also passed away when about two years of age. On the 30th day of October, 1907, Mr. Lienemann was joined in holy wedlock to Miss Katherine Boos. This happy union was blessed with a son, Alfred.

On May 19th, 1918, Mr. Lienemann, by the solemn rite of Confirmation, became a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church in Jefferson township of which church he remained a faithful member.

Two years ago, Mr. Lienemann suffered from a Rheumatic attack and since that time his health has been somewhat impaired. A year ago he turned the active management of the farm over to his son, while he built a new home for himself and wife. But not for long was he permitted to enjoy life in the new home. During the past winter he was practically confined to the house, suffering from heart trouble and complications. Hope was held out for his recovery, but on Sunday afternoon, April 17th, his life was suddenly terminated by an internal hemorrhage. He reached the age of fifty-four years, ten months and three days.

The survivors are his sorrowing wife, his son and daughter-in-law, and a little grandson, William Henry; two brothers, John L. of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Brachter B. of Madison county, Iowa; and a sister, Mrs. Lena Thoms, of Elgin, Illinois; besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Lienemann was very successful in his chosen occupation, that of farming. The Lord blessed his labors abundantly. He was a kind friend and neighbor, a faithful and loving husband and father, doing everything in his power to provide for his family not only the necessities, but also the comforts of life. His early death will be felt as a great loss, not only by the immediate family, but also by his church and the community at large. May the Lord comfort and sustain those whom He has stricken.

Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran church, April 20, by the Rev. C. Lilie, and the body was laid to rest in the Lutheran cemetery.
