Thursday, April 28, 1932DEATH OF ROY SHETTERLY
Roy Shetterly, of Peru died at the University hospital in Iowa City Sunday, April 24th, at the age of 41 years. Mr. Shetterly was brought to the Winterset hospital about two weeks ago, for treatment for Bright's Disease and complications. Last Thursday he was taken to Iowa City and he died there on Sunday.
Mr. Shetterly was a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Shetterly, and was born in Warren county, August 26, 1890. A few years later the family came to Madison county and they lived on a farm northeast of Peru. On May 24, 1911 he was married to Miss Pearl Hoover and they were the parents of four children. Two children have preceded him in death, and he leaves his wife, two sons, Richard and Norman, his mother, one brother, Ross of Oakley, Minnesota, and three sisters: Mildred of Chicago, Frans of Los Angeles, and Myrtle of Houston.
The Rev. A. R. Weed, a former pastor of his church, the Elm Grove church, conducted his funeral services, at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, Tuesday morning, April 26th, at 10 o'clock and burial was at the Peru cemetery.
