I. E. T. Wilson, better known to his friends and business associates as "Wood" Wilson, died at his home in Winterset on Saturday. Death came after a decline of three years.
Mr. Wilson, who was past 72 years of age, was born in Monroe township, this county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Wilson who were Madison county pioneers.
He was married to Miss Ida Baker, April 16th, 1886. In 1891 they moved to Winterset where he engaged in business, continuing in business until his health failed three years ago.
Mr. Wilson was active in the affairs of the county and city. He was mayor of Winterset for ten years and a member of the city council for eight years. He was a member of the Methodist church, serving on the official board of that church. He was also an active member of the Knights of Pythias and Masonic lodges.
He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mrs. Grace Watkins of Grimes and two granddaughters, Evelyn and Gracelyn Watkins. One son, Herschel Wesley died at the age of two years.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday, November 14th at two o'clock, conducted by the Rev. A. P. Keast. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.

Member of The City Council And Mayor Many Years. Lifelong Resident.
I. E. T. Wilson, lifelong resident of Madison county and ten years mayor of Winterset, died Saturday afternoon at his home on west Court avenue. He has been in ill health several years and had gradually grown weaker. The Rev. A. P. Keast conducted the services Monday afternoon at the Methodist church; burial was in the Winterset cemetery with the masons in charge of the services there.
Mr. Wilson had taken an active part in the city affairs, serving on the city council eight years in addition to being mayor five terms. After coming to Winterset in 1891 he engaged in the meat business, retiring three years ago on account of his health.
He was a member of the Methodist church and had served on the official board until a few years ago. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and of the Knights of Pythias.
He was born July 15, 1860 in Madison county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Wilson and was named Irvin Elwood Tidrick. His marriage to Miss Ida baler took place April 16,1886. Their son Herschel Wesley died at the age of two. His wife, a daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Grace Watkins and the two granddaughters, Evelyn and Gracelyn Watkins of Grimes survive.
