MORTUARY - Barnabas Lewis Hoover

Barnabas Lewis Hoover, son of Israel and Nancy Hoover was born in Madison county, Iowa, September 15, 1864, and died at his home in Peru, Iowa, January 12, 1932, at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 28 days.

He was married April 1, 1899, to Minnie Simmons. To this union were born nine children, two girls and one boy having preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife and six children: Jessie McDonald, Everett and Ernest of Scranton, Iowa; Esther Walton of Massena, Iowa; and Vera and Wilma at home. Two grandchildren, Mary and Kenneth; also two brothers, Henry of Peru and Ed of Des Moines, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a kind husband and a loving father.

Jack, as he was called by all who knew him had been a patient sufferer for more than a year, until death relieved him of his suffering.

Rev. A. R. Weed, pastor of the West Star church conducted his funeral Thursday afternoon at 10 o'clock at the home and burial was in the Peru cemetery.
