Services Here For MRS. HARRY TIDRICK

Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Tidrick, aged 89, a former Winterset resident were held Wednesday morning, March 16th, at the Anderson home for funerals, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery. She had been in poor health for several years, and death came at Dixon, Illinois, where she had been residing with a daughter, Sunday, March 13th, 1960.

The former Marene Graham, she was born on a farm near Van Meter, April 3, 1870 a daughter of William C. and Elizabeth Graham. She was a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, and taught in the Des Moines schools, before her marriage to Harry Tidrick, a member of a well known Winterset family. Mr. Tidrick was in the grocery and mercantile business, a funeral director and later owned and operated the Tidrick funeral home, until his death in 1931.

The Tidricks resided in Winterset, and they were the parents of two daughters and a son. Mrs. Tidrick was a long time member of the First Presbyterian church, here and also of Chapter AG P.E.O. and of the Womens club.

Mrs. Tidrick continued to operate the funeral home, until it was sold to Neil Anderson. In 1939, Mrs. Tidrick and her daughter, Mrs. Mary Gamble and sons moved to Glendale, California. In 1944, she returned to Davenport, and since then has resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Max Van Scoy, who later moved to Dixon.

The deceased is survived by a son, Miller Tidrick of Wrightwood, California, and a daughter, Mrs. Helen Van Scoy of Dixon. The daughter Mary died in 1944. She also leaves five grandchildren, Gretchen Van Scoy Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, Carrol (Kelley) Gamble of Avon Lake, Clair Gamble of Evergreen, Colorado, Billy Gamble of Davenport and Jack Gamble of Dixon. Ten great grandchildren also survive her.

The Rev. John Fink, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church here, conducted her services at 10 o'clock, this morning.
