DEATH OF GEORGE CLARK

Mrs. Eugene Caudill received a telegram Wednesday morning, January 13th, telling of the death of her uncle, George Clark of Denver, a former resident of this county. No further particulars had been received when the paper went to press last night.

Mr. Clark had made his home in Denver, about ten years, and left Madison county 25 years ago.

He was about 70 years of age. More details of his life will be given in next week's Madisonian.

George Clark

George Clark, youngest son of George and Nancy Nelson Clark, was born in Madison township, Madison county, Iowa, on June 5, 1864 and died in Denver, Colorado, on January 12, 1932, at the age of 67 years, 7 months and 7 days.

On January 1, 1884, he was united to Mary L. Combs and to this union, were born nine children. One daughter, Mrs. Velma Humphrey passed away in 1929.

He lived for many years in this county and was a good neighbor---(line missing from microfilm) he has lived in Denver, Colorado, where he passed away after a brief illness.

He leaves to mourn his departure eight children: Honor, Earl, Gladys, Mrs. Mary May McQuie, Blanch, Louise, Dale and Georgia; one sister, Mrs. Mima Thompson of Winterset, Iowa, one daughter, Mrs. Valeria Humphrey passed away in 1929.

Mr. Clark lived more than 40 years in Madison county. He moved to Kansas about 25 years ago. Only one daughter, Mrs. Mary McQuie, of Des Moines was able to be present at the services.

Funeral services were conducted from the Tidrick Funeral home at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, by the Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ.
