GEORGE FREY Of Winterset Dies

George Frey of Winterset, a well-known retired farmer, died this Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1966, at Memorial hospital here. He was 81 years of age and had been in poor health for several years.

Mr. Frey was a native of Illinois, where he was born near Bloomington on March 18, 1884, a son of Christian and Caroline Troyer Frey. He came to Madison county 73 years ago and had lived in Winterset since 1952.

Mr. Frey was married Sept. 5, 1906 to Clara E. Jackson. Her death occurred in 1951.

He was a member of the Pitzer United Presbyterian church.

Surviving are two daughters, Marjorie G. Frey and Mrs. Wayne Newton of Winterset; two sons, Russell J. Frey and Richard C. Frey of near Winterset; and seven grandchildren. His nine brothers and sisters had preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Pitzer United Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. John E. Fink of Winterset. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
