Mrs. Cecile Barber, a resident of Winterset for most of her life, died Monday, Feb. 22, at Memorial hospital here. She was 66 years of age.
Mrs. Barber was the former Cecile Laverne Clark, daughter of Clarence and Nora Walters Clark, and was born in Madison county, Oct. 20, 1904. She was married Sept. 9, 1923, to Russell Barber. His death occurred in 1956.
For many years she worked as a clerk in Winterset stores.
She was a member of the First Christian church of Winterset.
Mrs. Barber is survived by her son, Philip Barber of Portland, Ore.; her mother, Mrs. Nora Clark of Winterset; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. J. L. Brooker, and Mrs. Raymond Alexander of Winterset and Mrs. Gordon Evans of Rock Island, Ill.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Eldon E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
