ORA E. HUSTED Died Sunday

Ora E. Husted, a prominent figure in Republican political circles in Madison county for many years, died Sunday, March 21, 1954, at Memorial hospital in Winterset, following a heart attack. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. Husted was state representative from Madison county during the 1930-32 term, and served as state senator from the Adair-Madison district from 1932 to 1940. After that he served 10 years with the Iowa state tax commission, during which time he made his home in Des Moines. In 1950 he retired and moved to Winterset.

Mr. Husted spent his active years as a farmer in Ohio township,where he was born March 20, 1875, a son of Thomas and Mary Susan Husted. He was married Jan. 22, 1899, to Etna K. Kale, who survives him. They were parents of four children, one son dying in childhood.

Throughout his life he was active in the Methodist church, serving on the church board for 30 years. He was widely known as a church and Sunday school speaker.

In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Cressley H. Husted of Des Moines and Merrill Husted of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Miskey of Los Angeles, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Belle Brown of Winterset.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the Winterset Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Glenn Parrott. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
