CURTIS POLAND Died Saturday

Curtis E. Poland, a well-known Lincoln township farmer and long-time resident of the county died Saturday, March 12, 1960, at his home near Winterset. He was 65 years of age. Death resulted from a heart attack.

Mr. Poland was born at Manson, Iowa on October 21, 1894 a son of James E. and Margaret Gibbons Poland. He came to Madison County with his parents when he was about 8 years of age.

He was married here in 1916 toSula M. Herman, who survives him.

His church membership was Baptist. His life was spent in farming.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Phillip Poland of Woodward; two daughters, Mrs. Miriam Wildin of Booneville and Mrs. Joan Cullen of Crystal Lake; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Willard Poland of Winterset; and a sister, Mrs. Ione Hann of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. David Kiser of the Ord church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
