Clarence Algoe, 88, a retired farmer, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 1978, at Edenburg Hospital in Texas. He had been making his home at the Retama Manor in Edenburg.
He was born June 7, 1889 in Broken Bow, Nebraska, the son of Robert and Minnie Algoe and lived in Madison County most of his life.
He was married to Velma Parkins March 5, 1913 in Winterset, Iowa. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Peru, Iowa.
Services were held at Wilson Funeral Home in McAllen, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Velma; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Porter of McAllen, Texas; two grandsons, Paul Carey of Des Moines, Iowa; Pat Carey of Houston, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
