DEATH OF MRS. MYRTLE KIRK

Mrs. Myrtle Kirk, who was born and raised in Madison county, died in Des Moines early Tuesday morning, January 5th, at the age of 52 years. Mrs. Kirk had been in poor health for several months, and was operated upon for gall stones, at the Mercy hospital in Des Moines, Monday. She failed to rally from the operation and died during the night.

Mr. and Mrs. Zacharia Oglesbee were her parents and she was born in Scott township, February 22, 1879. She taught school in this county for several years and was married to Ross Kirk 22 years ago. They were the parents of one daughter, Edna who resides here. Mrs. Kirk also leaves one brother and two sisters, N. W. Oglesbee of Scott township, Miss Nancy Oglesbee of Des Moines, and Mrs. A. J. Wright of Texas.

The deceased is a member of the Church of Christ, and the Rev. F. C. McCallon of Osceola, a former pastor here, will conduct her services at 10:30 o'clock this morning (Thursday) at Tidrick's Funeral home, and burial will be in the Winterset cemetery.

Mortuary - Mary Myrtle Kirk

Mary Myrtle Kirk, daughter of Isaiah and Dulcena Oglesbee, was born February 22, 1879 in Cass county, Iowa and departed this life in Des Moines, Iowa January 5, 1932, age 52 years, 10 months and 13 days.

She was united in marriage to W. R. Kirk August 8, 1908. To this union one child was born, Edna Alberta, who, with two sisters, Mrs. A. J. Wright of Mercedes, Texas and Miss Nancy Oglesby of Des Moines, and one brother, N. W. Oglesbee of Winterset, Iowa still survive her.

She united with the Christian church at Winterset at Easter time in 1926 and lived faithfully to the end, keeping her trust in God. She died as she had lived.

Funeral service was conducted by the Rev. F. Claire McCallon of Osceola, from Tidrick's Funeral home Thursday at 10:30 o'clock and burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
