DEATH OF JOHN FOX

Word has been received here of the death of John Fox, former Winterset and Pitzer grocer at a hospital in Denver, Colorado, Sunday, May 15th. Mr. Fox, who was 69 years of age, had been ill, in the hospital, the past several weeks.

The deceased was born in this county in 1863, and when he was a young man, owned and operated a grocery store in Pitzer for a number of years. Later he moved to Winterset, and operated a store here. In 1900 he went to Colorado, because of his health, and ran a grocery store at Boulder. For the past fifteen years he has kept a store at Bennett.

Mr. Fox was married to Miss Carrie Sackett in 1890, and they were the parents of five children: Mrs. Ethel Maxsum and Imogene, Jessie, and Charles of Boulder and Bruce of California. He also leaves two brothers Simon Fox of Greeley, Colorado, and Luther of Winterset.

Funeral services were held May 17th, and burial was at Boulder.
