Marian Mogensen, St. Charles

Marian Carrie Mogensen, 77, of St. Charles died of cancer March 20, 2003 at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, at the St. Charles Parish with Pastor Darold Snow officiating. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Marian Mogensen was born Aug. 16, 1925, to Adolph Milford and Iona Myrtle (Hardy) Berhow of Elmore, Minn. She grew up in Minnesota and had resided in Des Moines before moving to St. Charles in 1976. She was married to Harold Raymond Mogensen, who preceded her in death. Marian had been a bookkeeper for several businesses before retiring. She was a member of St. Charles Parish, the Women United of St. Charles Parish and the Des Moines Police Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Barbara Mogensen; and a brother, Lee Berhow.

She is survived by two daughters, Becky Allen of Tulsa, Okla., and Debby Young of Newton; six brothers, Melvin Berhow of California, Sun Berhow of Florida, Merwin Berhow of Minnesota, Jerry Berhow of Mississippi, Tommy Berhow of Florida and Danny Berhow of Wisconsin; six sisters, Faye Knudsen of Algona, Annabelle Larsen and DeeEtta Kuehn, both of Mississippi, and Ruth Campbell, Betty Gihas and Virginia Evensen, all of Minnesota; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Middle River Hospice or St. Charles Parish.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
