Orpha Mitchell, 102, of Winterset, died of a respiratory ailment Oct. 28, 1995 at the Community Care of Winterset. Memorial graveside services will be held for the cremains at a later date. Services will be at the Ottumwa Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 2, 1893 in Rome, Iowa to Calvin and Maude (Duncanson) Allender. She married Harry J. Mitchell on April 22, 1915 in Ottumwa. She was a homemaker and had lived in Madison County for the past 23 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Maxine Rozeboom and husband Dr. Earl Rozeboom of West Des Moines and three grandchildren.
