DALE L. MITCHELL DIES AT MADRID

Dale L. Mitchell of Madrid, formerly of Madison county, died Thursday, Sept. 28, at his home in Boone county. He was 52 years of age.

Mr. Mitchell was a son of Charles and Bertha M. Mitchell. He was born March 27, 1915 in Guthrie county, but spent his early life in Madison county. He engaged in farming most of his life, the last 17 years in Boone county. He attended school at Macksburg.

He was married at Creston Aug. 15, 1939, to Frances E. Diehl, who survives him.

In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, David C. Mitchell and Dale L. Mitchell, Jr., both of Boone and Eugene F. Mitchell, who is serving with the U.S. army in Germany; a nephew, Allan at home; two grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Mitchell of Winterset; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Binns and Mrs. Dorothy White of Winterset; and three brothers, Edward Mitchell of Madrid and John and Eldon Mitchell of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Oct. 3 from the Sundberg Funeral home in Madrid, conducted by the Rev. Robert Kurtz, pastor of the First Christian church of that community. Burial was made in Fairview cemetery there.
