WINTERSET WOMAN DIES AT 92 YEARS

Mrs. Sarah Anne Peacock Succumbs at Home of Daughter

Sarah Anne Peacock, aged Winterset resident, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. B. Pace, Wednesday, Aug. 18th, at the age of 92 years. Mrs. Peacock had been a resident of Madison county since 1896, and for the past 32 years, Winterset had been her home.

The deceased was the former Sarah Anne Kalebaugh daughter of Ephriam and Suzanna Kalebaugh. She was born October 8, 1850, in York county, Pennsylvania. When four years of age, she moved with her family to Schulyer county, Illinois, and they made that community their home for forty-one years.

She was married to George R. Peacock in 1894, and they were the parents of 8 children, three of whom have preceded her in death. Since 1910, Mrs. Peacock has been a member of the Winterset Church of Christ, and attended regularly until poor health kept her at home.

Mrs. Peacock is survived by three sons and two daughters: Mrs. Annetta Kellogg of La Junta, Colorado; Harlan Peacock of Lake Crystal, Minn.; Archie of Roy, Ill.; and Edward and Mrs. Zelma Pace of Winterset. Two sisters, Mrs. Anne E. Stroops of Oak Harbor, Washington and Mrs. Adeline Simpson of Rushville, Ill., 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held at the Anderson home for funerals, Sunday, Aug. 22, conducted by the Rev. L. F. Davis, assisted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
