RAYMOND PARKER, SR., Winterset

Raymond E. Parker, Sr., 66, of Winterset, died Dec. 6, 1994 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services were Dec. 9, 1994 at the First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Frank and the Rev. Bob Epperson officiated with burial at the Winterset Cemetery.

He was born Oct. 3, 1928 in Madison County to Charles A. and Clara (Bray) Parker. He married Juanita Uhlman in Des Moines on July 22, 1950. He was a retired production superintendent for Grip-Tite Manufacturing. He was a lifetime resident of Madison County and a member of the American Legion Post No. 184; and the Evening Star Masonic Lodge No. 43. He had served in the Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and nine brothers.

Surviving relatives include his very special friend and companion, June Myers of Winterset; one son, Raymond Parker, Jr. and wife Sandy of Winterset; one daughter, Debbie DeForest and husband Jeff of Osceola; one sister, Wilma McDonald of Winterset; and five grandchildren.
