WARD MCDANIEL DIES AT 103 YEARS

Ward McDaniel of Columbia, Mo., Winterset's oldest former resident, died Sept. 28 at the age of 103 years, according to word received here last week.

His wife, the former Cynthia Anne Goode of Madison county, survives him. She is 102 years of age. They celebrated their eighty-first wedding anniversary last January.

Mr. McDaniel was born at Winterset June 19, 1868, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank McDaniel. He was married here Jan. 21, 1890, and they engaged in farming near Winterset until 1920, when they moved to Macon county, Mo.

In 1962, he retired from farming and they moved into Macon, Mo., where they lived until this year, when they went to Columbia to make their home with a son and family.

Funeral services were held at Macon, with burial in Woodlawn cemetery in that city.
