CORNEIL CARROLL LEEPER

Corneil Carroll Leeper came to his death as a result of a truck and tractor accident Monday, October 4, on a county road near Earlham at the age of 51 years, 2 months and 21 days. He was the son of Carroll and Elma Callison Leeper of Earlham. Corneil was born July 13, 1920 at Dexter, Iowa.

His lifetime was spent farming in the Earlham community. He was a member of the Early Chapel church.

He served his country in World War II from December 30, 1942 to October 19, 1945. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star Medal for the battles and campaigns he fought in the European Theater.

His hobby was sport car racing and he was never too busy to lend a helping hand to his friends and neighbors.

Surviving Corneil are his mother and father; two brothers – Lyle A. Leeper of Earlham and Gail Leeper of Whittier, California; one niece and three nephews, other relatives and friends.

LEEPER FUNERAL SERVICES HELD

Funeral services were held last Thursday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset for Corneil C. Leeper of Earlham, whose death had occurred Monday, Oct. 4, as a result of a highway accident south of Earlham.

The Rev. William Dilsaver of Des Moines conducted the services. Burial was made in the Earlham cemetery.

Mr. Leeper was 51 years of age at his death. A son of Carroll and Elma Callison Leeper, he was a life-long resident of Madison county. His life was spent in farming.

Mr. Leeper never married. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Leeper of Earlham; and two brothers, Lyle A. Leeper of Earlham and Gail Leeper of Whittier, Calif.
