Wayne E. Staley, 74, died September 11, 1993 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 15, 1993 at 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Epperson officiated the service.
Mr. Staley was born June 8, 1919 in Cass County (near Messena) to Clifford and Elsie Bright Staley. He was married to Ila Lucille Golay on February 10, 1939 in Marysville, Mo. and worked as a farmhand. He lived most of his lifetime in Madison County and was a member of the C.B. Club in Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Russell and Robert; and a sister, Ellen.
He is survived by his wife, Ila, of Winterset; sons, John Staley and wife Carolyn of Winterset, Jim Staley and wife Gayle of Roseville, Minn.; a brother, Noah Staley of Winterset; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
