NOAH STALEY, Winterset

Noah William Staley, 88, of Winterset, died of multiple organ system failure March 28, 2004, at Winterset Care Center North.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, March 31) at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Bob Epperson officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Noah Staley was born Sept. 13, 1915, to Clifford and Elsie (Conklon) Staley of Massea. He had been a mechanic and pilot for Hap's Air Service and the airport manager in Atlantic for several years. He resided in Cumberland and Atlantic before moving to Winterset in 1984. Noah also had been a Boy Scout scoutmaster, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp, and a drummer in his own band.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Staley, and a sister, Ellen Staley.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of Winterset; three sons, Mike Kuhns of Fremont Neb., Terry Perkins of Atlantic and David Olson of San Marcos, Calif.; two daughters, Jo Ellen Timkar of Moorcroft, Wyo., and Sherry McDonald of Winterset, and seven grandchildren.
