MRS. MARY ALLEN DIES AT 92 YEARS

Mrs. Mary N. Allen of Winterset died last Thursday, Nov. 25, at Horton Nursing home here, at the age of 92 years.

Mrs. Allen was a native of the Lacona community in Warren county, where she was born Jan. 1, 1879, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. Pugh. She was married in Guthrie county on April 1, 1922, to Clare Allen. He preceded her in death.

She was a school teacher for many years, teaching in Guthrie county. For the last 17 years she had been a resident of Madison county.

She was a member of the Christian church.

Mrs. Allen leaves a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Altenhofen of Ogema, Minn.; five sons, Aubrey Allen of McIntosh, S. Dak., Frank O. Allen of Winterset, Alvin Allen of Elko, Nev., Chester Allen, and Robert Allen of Redfield, N. Y. She also leaves 21 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were a daughter and two infant sons, in addition to her husband.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. E. E. Jandebeur, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was made in the Stringtown cemetery.
