LEE WOLFE DIED CHRISTMAS DAY
Lee C. Wolfe, of Winterset died Christmas day, Dec. 25, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 58 years of age.
Mr. Wolfe was a life-long resident of Madison county, except for six years when he farmed in Adair county. He was born at Macksburg July 5, 1913, a son of Glen and Lila Herren Wolfe. He was married in Adair county on Sept. 28, 1935, to Mayme Schulz, who survives him.
During his active life he engaged in farming, and for some time was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone company. He also operated a Texaco Service station in Winterset for several years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist church of Winterset.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Keith Cooke of Ft. Dodge; a son Leroy Wolfe of Waukee; three grandchildren; and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wolfe of Macksburg.
Funeral services were held Monday from the First United Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Newton Coughenour. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
