Funeral Services For NELLIE CHAMBERLAIN

A housewife in Madison County all her life, Nellie Ellen-Esther Chamberlain, died Wednesday, December 3, 1975 at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Chamberlain was born November 27, 1886 in Madison County, Iowa, the daughter of Thornton Young and Martha Harland. She was 89 at the time of her death.

On December 24, 1907 Mrs. Chamberlain was married to Oliver F. McKeever in Winterset. He passed away June 5, 1925. She married Sylvester Chamberlain March 11, 1930 in Winterset. He also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Chamberlain was affiliated with the Methodist Church of Peru.

Surviving Mrs. Chamberlain are two daughters, Mrs. Ilot (Louise) Ackelson of Des Moines and Mrs. L. V. (Lucille) Russell of Winterset, two sons, Mr. William McKeever and Wallace McKeever, both of Peru, Iowa, a step-daughter, Mrs. Laura Frazier of Des Moines and a step-son Lee Chamberlain of Osceola.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ida Young, St. Marys, Iowa and Mrs. Wilma Foley, Peru and two brothers, Donald Young and Luther Young of Indianola.

Mrs. Chamberlain was preceded in death by both her husbands, her parents, one daughter, Mrs. Alice Grimes, five brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, a great grandson and a great-great grandson.

Funeral services for Nellie Ellen-Esther Chamberlain were conducted Saturday, December 6, 1975 at 1:30 p.m. from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Presiding was the Rev. Richard Hempenius. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
