MRS. LORA MILLS DIES AT 89 YEARS

Was Member of Prominent family and Life-Long Resident Here

Mrs. Lora Mills, member of a prominent Winterset family, died Saturday, Dec. 26, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clifford J. Miller. She was 89 years of age. She had not been in good health for some time, and had been confined to her bed for about two weeks.

Mrs. Mills was a life-long resident of Winterset. She was the former Lora Alice Breden, daughter of Richard and Annie E. Breden and was born in Winterset on April 3, 1870.

In September of 1888, she was married to Charles A. Mills of Winterset. They were parents of three sons, Ralph, Ray and Charles Mills, all of Winterset, and a daughter, Alice, now Mrs. Clifford J. Miller of Winterset. Her husband died in 1930.

Mrs. Mills had been a member of the Christian church since early life. She was affiliated with the Pythian Sisters lodge in 1906, receiving her 50-year certificate and pin in 1956. She was a member of the lodge's Past Chiefs' club and had been a member of the Order of Eastern Star since 1935.

In addition to her three sons, and daughter, she is survived by seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Taylor of Omaha and Mrs. Pearl Moore of Council Bluffs; and a brother, Arthur Breden of Omaha.

Funeral services were held this Monday from the Christian church conducted by the Rev. Robert A. Owens, pastor of the church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
