MRS. CLAUDE EWICK Dies at 95 Years

Mrs. Claude Ewick of Winterset, one of Madison County's oldest resident, died Thursday, November 9, 1972 at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was 95 years of age.

Mrs. Ewick was a native of Patterson, where she was born January 1, 1877, and had lived most of her life in Madison County. She was the former Amanda J. Carter, daughter of Benjamin F. and Mary Eskew Carter. She was married at Patterson November 25, 1897 to Claude Ewick. His death occurred in 1959.

Mrs. Ewick had lived in Winterset most of her life. She had worked as a clerk in Winterset stores and as a seamstress. She was a 50-year member of Crown Rebekah lodge and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of the Woman's Relief Corps.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winterset.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Nicholson of Norwalk, California and Mrs. Dale M. Brooks of Des Moines; six grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday from Collins Funeral Home conducted by Rev. H. E. Borum, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Winterset. Burial was made in Blair Chapel Cemetery.
