GUY S. MILLER OF VAN METER DIES

VAN METER-Guy S. Miller, a pioneer resident of Jefferson township, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the home of his son, Glenn Wilson here. He was 80 years of age.

Mr. Miller was born Dec. 5, 1872, in Indiana, a son of Robert and Jane Miller. When he was 5 years old, he came with his parents to Iowa, making the trip in a covered wagon. They settled on a Madison county farm where Trinity Lutheran church now stands.

He was married Aug. 19, 1894, to Emma Feller, who preceded him in Death. Most of his life was spent in the Van Meter community. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Van Meter, and the Odd Fellows lodge at Booneville.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lela Hannnon of Los Angeles, Calif., a son, Glenn Wilson of Van Meter; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mattie Huff of Perry.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Evangelical U.B. church at Van Meter, in charge of the Rev. Mr. Beurman. Burial was made in the Waukee cemetery.
