June 17, 1981Franklin Miller Dies At 63
Franklin William Miller of rural St. Charles died June 8 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 63.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, at Kale Funeral Home in Truro, Pastor Jim Patrick officiating.
Born May 5, 1918, in St.Charles, he was the son of Charles Monroe Miller and Louisa Jane Shutt.
Miller graduated from St. Mary's High School and on June 23, 1940, he married Mildred J. Allen at St. Charles.
Mr. Miller was a farmer and for the last 15 years a carpenter for Circle B. Cashway.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clyde; infant twin brothers, Roy and Loy; and a son, Franklin William Miller jr., in infancy.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Evelynn Russell of Osceola and Carolyn Weir of St. Charles; a brother, Ralph of Des Moines,; a sister, Clela Slemons of Atlanta, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.
