Alice Mae Schutz, 95, died Nov. 26, 2002, of complications of a stroke at Mount Ayr Health Care Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 2, at the Macksburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Sandra Smith officiating. Burial was at Moon Cemetery, Grand River Township, Madison County.
Alice Schutz was born Oct. 19, 1907, in Madison County to James and Mabel (Justice) Steele. She was a graduate of Macksburg Hgh School. On March 23, 1930, she married Alvin Doyle Schutz in Madison County. She and her husband farmed in the Macksburg area. Alice, a lifetime resident of Madison County, was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, an infant brother and two sisters.
She is survived by a son, Larry Schutz (wife Kay) of Santa Ana, Calif.; a daughter, Carmene James (husband Junior) of Mount Ayr; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
