VIOLA ALLEN, Winterset

Viola Ruth Allen, 77, died Oct. 4, 2006, at Winterset Care Center North.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Charles Cemetery with the Rev. William Branson officiating.

Viola Allen was born April 12, 1929, in Des Moines to Lloyd D. and Grace Annajane (Vermillion) Allen. She grew up in the Runnells and Knoxville area and attended country school. Viola worked for Roll Screen in Pella and had a poultry farm before moving to the St. Charles area where she lived for many years. She also worked at the nursing home in St. Charles for four years and, later, at the nursing home in Osceola, retiring after 21 years of service. Following retirement, she moved with her sister, Betty, to Winterset where she resided for the past few years.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Watts and Blanche Allen, and a brother, William Lynch.

She is survived by a sister, Betty Allen of Winterset.

Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
