MRS. EMMA MERCER NATIVE OF KANSAS

Mrs. Emma C. Mercer, whose death occurred here Jan. 6, was a native of Acheson, Kan. where she was born Sept. 23, 1883.

She was married to Edward C. Bailey of Winterset on Jan. 5, 1914. He preceded her in death April 18, 1952. On Aug. 22, 1954, she was married to Frank Mercer of Union, Ia.

She attended the Four Square church and in later years, the Church of God.

She leaves her husband, Frank Mercer; a son, Frank Gregg of Keota; and three stepchildren, Delores Hulsebus of Ellsworth and Frank W. Mercer and DeWayne B. Mercer of Marshalltown. She also leaves a brother, William Kinkennon of Osceola; and a sister, Mrs. Stella Fairbanks of Winterset.

Funeral services were held from the Anderson Funeral home Jan. 8 conducted by the Rev. Arthur Nagel, Church of God pastor. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

MRS. EMMA MERCER OF WINTERSET DIES

Mrs. Emma Mercer, a long-time resident of the Winterset community died at her home here this Wednesday morning, Jan. 6. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Mercer is survived by her husband; and a son, Frank Gregg of Keota.

Funeral plans had not been made definitely, but arrangements are being made by the Anderson home for funerals.
