Services for June Alberta Mathews, 62, St. Charles, who died Sept. 16 at the Care Center South in Winterset, were held Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Rev. Chet Waterman officiating. Burial was at the St. Charles Cemetery.
Born June 13, 1922 at Custer, S.D., she was the daughter of John Milton Hight and Mary Eliazbeth Stewart. She was an active member of the VFW auxiliary of St.Charles and the St. Charles Parish Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Hein of Avoca, Iowa; sister, Mamie Haynes of St. Charles and Ella Burg of Hot Springs, S.D.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a half sister and a granddaughter.
