Page 1Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt Dies
Van Meter, Special, Dec. 24.
Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt passed away Friday morning, Dec. 23 after a short illness, at the home of her daughter, Manda. Mrs. Marquardt was 79 years old.
She was born in Germany and came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Dallman when she was about three years old. They lived first in Wisconsin and later came to Madison county, where she was married. Mr. Marquardt died in 1920.
Mrs. Marquardt is survived by seven children, William F. Marquardt, Rufus Marquardt, Manda, Bertha of Whitewater, Wis., Carl Marquardt, Emma and August Marquardt.
One daughter, Dora, preceded her mother in death.
Mrs. Marquardt also leaves a half sister, Mrs. Bertha Whitlief of Fort Atkinson, Wis.
Funeral arrangements are not completed but it is probable the services will be held Monday.
