Cleo Manning, Missouri

Cleo Arnold Manning, 89, of Hopkins, Mo., died June 25, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Mo., following a brief illness.

Graveside services were held Thusday, June 29, at Hopkins Cemetery with the Rev. Susan Noakes officiating.

Cleo Manning was born Oct. 11, 1910, in Winterset to Ephran Enic and Bessie May (Weems) Manning. He married Thelma Margaret Grimes on June 12, 1960 in Hopkins. A graduate of Winterset High School, he was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Cleo had been a power shovel operator for a rock quarry. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and American Legion Post 288 of Hopkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother.

He is survived by a brother, Bert Lee Manning (wife Elsie) of Winterset and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Price Funeral Home in Maryville.
