Richard Arthur Madison of Winterset died Tuesday, Aug. 12 at Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 52. He had lived in Winterset for the past 20 years.

Born on Dec. 29, 1927, at Bridgewater, he was the son of Russell Charles and Mildred Frances Neff Madison. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a laborer for Armstrong Tire and Rubber.

Among the survivors are three children, Russell, Patricia Wadle and Lucretia Goble, all of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert of Springfield, Ore., and Wes of Eugene, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John; and a brother, Russell Charles Jr.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur Nagel officiating. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Prescott.
