Death Of LINCOLN MARTIN

Lincoln Martin, life long resident of Madison couny, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H. G. Tilton, Tuesday morning, January 29th, after a week's illness with flu-pneumonia. Mr. Martin would have been 71 years of age in March. He became ill with the flu, Saturday, January 12th, and his condition soon became critical.

Mr. Martin was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Martin, pioneer settlers of Madison county. The Martins came here, in an early day, and built the stone house, a mile south of Primary No. 2, where the Bass family now reside. Here Link, as he was familiarly known, was born and raised. In 1887 he was married to Miss Maggie Holliwell and for a year they lived with her parents, in their home, near the Holliwell bridge. After that they moved to Winterset, and resided here, until Mrs. Martin died sixteen years ago. Since that time, he has made his home with the Tiltons.

The deceased is survived by his two children, Mrs. Tilton, and Willis Martin of Winterset.

The Rev. H. L. Olmstead, pastor of the Church of Christ, will conduct his funeral services, at Tidrick's funeral home, at 1:30 this afternoon and bural will be in the Winterset cemetery.
