MRS. LIDA GREEN BURIED TUESDAY
Long-Time Winterset Resident Died Last Thursday In Ohio
Mrs. Lida E. Green, widow of the late Ellyson Green of Winterset, died last Thursday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. J. Konkle of Cincinnati, Ohio, where she had been living in recent years. Mrs. Green was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Green was born at Wapello, July 31, 1864, as Lida Ellen Boulton, daughter of John and Frances Boulton. In 1880 the family moved to Juel county, Kansas, where she was living at the time of her marriage to Ellyson Green, on Feb. 18, 1885.
Mrs. Green had been a member of the Methodist church since early life. During their life in Winterset, both she and her husband were active in the affairs of the church here. She served for several years as president of the Ladies Aid.
Mrs. Green's husband preceded her in death, as also did two sons, Lieut. C. R. Green, who was killed in action in France during World War I, as an officer of Winterset's Comapny A, and Ralph R. Green.
She is survived by a son, Fred E. Green of Pawnee, Okla.; the daughter, Mrs. Fern Konkle; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held here Tuesday from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, in charge of the Rev. W. A. Samp, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
