Services for Carl Ernest McMichael, 68, rural Truro, who died March 22 at his residence, were held on Friday, March 25, at the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with the Rev. Don Ludwick of Des Moines officiating. Burial was at the Blair Chapel Cemetery at St. Charles.
Born at Patterson on Oct. 17, 1919, he was the son of Thomas and Mary McKinney McMichael. He attended Madison and Polk County schools and was married to Merle Evison on Oct. 26, 1940 at Bethany, Mo.
Mr. McMichael was a farmer, a past president of the Truro Lions Club and the Fort Des Moines Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Joyce Patton of Des Moines, Donna Hudson and husband Mark of Afton, and Shirley Craig and husband Bill of Lorimor; a son, Richard and wife Patty of St. Charles; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Vernon McMichael of Denver, Colo.; and Lloyd McMichael of Kansas; step-sisters, Alice Hodges and Elizabeth McMichael of Des Moines; and a step-brother, Art Neely of La Feria, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a brother and two step-brothers.
