Carol Kinney, Truro

Carol J. Kinney, 59, of Truro died Sept. 17, 2006, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 21, at the St. Charles Parish Church with the Revs. Ron Ridgway and Sandra Smith officiating. Burial was at St. Charles Cemetery.

Carol Kinney was born April 14, 1947, in Des Moines to John A. and Betty (Harten) Mally. She grew up in Elkhart graduating from North Polk High School in 1965. On April 2, 1966, she married Jack P. Kinney in Fort Carson, Colo. She and her family moved to the St. Charles/Truro area 28 years ago. Carol worked for Heartland Area Education Agency in Johnston for 25 years, most recently as a regional secretary. She was a member of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, St. Charles Parish Church and Women's Night Circle. She also served as a 4-H leader for several years and was active in the Race for the Cure.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Jack of Truro; three daughters, Teresa Fraker of Davenport, Ronda Saddoris of Norwalk and Vicki Turner of Pleasant Hill; three brothers, Jim Ingram of Prescott, Ariz., Gary Ingram of Elkhart and Paul Mally of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Janice Thompson of Medford, Minn., and Judy Lint of Polk City; and six grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Des Moines affiliate of the Race for the Cure or the St. Charles Parish Church.
