Doris Mitchell McKee, 91, of San Jose, Calif., died of cardiac failure Feb. 19, 2001, at Willow Glen Convalescent Center.

Cremation services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8 at Fisher Funeral Home in Van Meter. The family will be present at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Doris McKee was born in Adair County near Orient to Jud and Ida Walker. In her early adult years, she taught Sunday school and also public school in rural Madison County. Her first husband, Cliff (Pat) Mitchell, died in 1945. Her second husband, Orlie McKee died Jan. 31, 2001. Doris had resided in California for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Wendell Mitchell of West Des Moines and Dale Mitchell of San Jose, Calif.; a daughter, Patty Mitchell Kiddoo, also of San Jose; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
