Victor Scott McDonald, 78, died April 15, 2005 at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation in Winterset.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 18, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Bobb Barrick officiating. Burial was at McDonald-Chase Cemetery, Douglas Township Madison County, with military rites performed by American Legion Post 184 and V.F.W. Post 8142, both of Winterset.
Scott McDonald was born Dec. 20, 1926 in Winterset to William Wallace and Gladys May (Clark) McDonald. He married Mary Mae Archer on Aug. 10, 1950, in Winterset. Scott, a lifetime area resident, had been a farmer for most of his life. He also was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife and four brothers, Wayne, Whitey, Leonard and Melvin McDonald.
He is survived by one son, Randy McDonald of Winterset; two brothers, Paul McDonald and Jim McDonald, both of Winterset; and two sisters, Zola Haigh of Des Moines and Barbara Corkrean of Winterset.
