Former Resident Had Been Living at West Plaines
Brief funeral rites for Mrs. Ersie Osborn of West Plaines, Mo., who died recently at Barnes hospital in St. Louis, Mo., were held here Tuesday from Anderson's home for funerals, and burial was made in Montpelier cemetery at Patterson.
Mrs. Osborn was the former Silva Jane Handy, daughter of Albert and Emma Handy, and was born in Madison county on Dec. 14, 1889. She was 52 years old at her death.
She was married on Dec. 25, 1913, to Ersie Hazen Osborn of Winterset. They were the parents of three children.
Mr. and Mrs. Osborn lived for some time at Fonda, Ia., before moving to West Plaines, which had been their home for the past seven years.
She is survived by her husband; the three children, Mrs. Eva Fairley of Salem, Ore., Mrs. Ruth Tindall of Pomona, and Donald Osborn at home. She also leaves her aged mother, and a brother, J. M. Handy of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Sunday from Robertson's home for funerals at West Plaines. Among those from Winterset who drove down for the services were: J. M. Handy, Mr. and Mrs. Fenner Osborn, Mrs. Mary Osborn, and Mrs. Ed Lavalleur. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Cohee of Carthage, Mo., also were present.
